Madalin Mihailescu is Chief Technology Officer and a Partner, and is responsible for leading the Georgian Impact team. In addition, he provides technology architecture support to our portfolio companies. Madalin is also responsible for analyzing technology trends, engaging in the technology due diligence process and developing internal software to support our investment process.
Prior to joining Georgian Partners, Madalin worked in the Advanced Technology Group at NetApp. There he researched trends impacting NetApp’s business, from cloud ecosystems such as Amazon Web Services and OpenStack, and large-scale data management and processing software including NoSQL and Hadoop, to emerging non-volatile memories. Before NetApp, Madalin built PaaS and IaaS cloud management software at IBM. Earlier in his career he conducted research on cloud computing and emerging large-scale data management and analytics paradigms.
Madalin holds a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Toronto.
Madalin enjoys playing tennis, catching a Toronto Symphony Orchestra concert on weekends and exploring Toronto’s culinary scene.
